This is a sample from US immigrants from my native island of Kassos, Dodecanese. Its dialect originated from ancient Doric Greek, like Cypriot Greek, and therefore shares many lexical elements with CG. Most first generation immigrants had very little or no literacy and when exposed with new concepts freely borrowed/hellenised English elements. I assume that similar elements may be observed in the speech of Greek Cypriots in England.
στάκαρα: I got stuck/I am stuck
νότα: mortgage payment or loan repayment
