'Faies' (fires)
My parents used this word to describe the central heating in the house or the heating in the car!
E.g. " na'psoume tes faies"
This is my personal favourite Grenglish word and I didn't know the proper word for heating till I was a teenager!
My parents migrated to the UK in the 60's.
Your article and work on this subject is outstanding, thank you for keeping the flame lit on this superb language that our parents and grandparents created. Keep up the good work.
